ok so. we are officially in the new place, unpacking, all is semi-well lol (the dog jumped on me and stuck his foot in my eye today, but that’s unrelated). A quick rundown of what all went wrong:

we receive the most busted ass, tore up, clapped out uhaul I have ever seen

we arrive at the leasing office to find out that they will not give us the keys until we have proof of water, power, and renters insurance. we were not informed of this on the many phone calls we made to make sure everything was good to go.

after running all over town to get all this paperwork, we receive the keys and promptly find out that there is no washer and dryer like we thought, only hookups

we also find RAT SHIT in the basement, which has multiple huge vents that let in all types of critters. Also the basement doorknob is broken, so there’s just a big hole in the door! :)

there is a hole in the bathroom floor that just drains into the basement

we drop a table in the uhaul and dent it and have a moment of panic before I remember I paid for the insurance

we almost run out of time to move all our shit over the two days we have the uhaul because we didn’t get the keys until like 3 pm on the first day

gf has an asthma attack and can barely lift anything

there is natural gas that has to be turned on, which we were again not informed of, resulting in us not thinking we had hot water for three days. so we didn’t shower for three days in Alabama in late July while doing physical labor. come to find out, when they finally hooked up the gas, the hot water heater is electric :)))))

i bought the wrong size shower curtain

we r moving today and literally every step has been a problem. 0/10 worst moving experience ever. Will update
